I’m very disappointed with the condition of churches in KL (Kuala Lumpur), perhaps until the point of despair. We have been living in KL for almost 9 years, and we still floating around and finally given up in looking for a good church. Same thing happens everywhere in the world: the churches are corrupted themselves and not being in line with the teachings of the bible. Some people rather read the bible at home and refuse to go to church because of that.
But understand this, that in the last days there will come times of difficulty. For people will be lovers of self, lovers of money, proud, arrogant, abusive, disobedient to their parents, ungrateful, unholy, heartless, unappeasable, slanderous, without self-control, brutal, not loving good, treacherous, reckless, swollen with conceit, lovers of pleasure rather than lovers of God, having the appearance of godliness, but denying its power. Avoid such people. (2 Timothy 3:1-5)
These people are referred to people in the church, I myself and my parents have met these people, and God wants us to avoid them. Does that mean that do not go to church? But God wants us to serve. I am hurted, and confused, really confused.

what to do when the world that surrounds us is not the world we wish to be surrounded by. you may never find a good church, but press on. We are told to never give up meeting together. to find a church without such as these, would be almost impossible, we would disrupt it most probably. self reflection aside, i know what you are talking about, it is not easy trully finding a church that seeks God above all else. My only thought is to find someone you respect who can point you to a good church near by. will ask around.

I don't know how helpful it is, but if there really is no good churches, maybe you could start one, i.e. if you have any friends etc. that feel likewise, begin meeting together to worship God and learn from his Word.
But I recognise that I don't know the situation so this might not be that helpful.
